Strawberries!

In April we moved into our new house.  We initially toured the home in January on the same day a big blizzard hit.  We had no idea what all was going to come up in the yard this spring.  I certainly didn't expect we get strawberry plants!  I've never had a garden or grown even a tomato plant but thanks to plants doing what they do even when we just let them be we had our first strawberries yesterday!  I have watered them twice since we moved in (see, I told you I don't know how to garden!) and am so excited about them that I think we will try to put down some fertilizer that a good friend recommended and water them more :) 

The berries are not large like in the stores but they are super sweet!  We enjoyed eating these on their own but I hope to use some in a recipe as well.  If you have any strawberry recipes you especially like send them my way!
